The nuclear bunker is the only preserved ROC nuclear bunker in the south west open to the public on a regular basis and the decoy command bunker is the only known preserved one of its type in the UK. The nuclear bunker is the only preserved ROC nuclear bunker in the south west open to the public on a regular basis and the decoy command bunker is the only known preserved one of its type in the UK. 20/10/2016(1 event) Clay to Coast Choirs, 19:3019:30 This will be the fourth in a very successful series of concerts raising funds needed to undertake vital repairs to the roof and spire of All Saints’ Church, St Ewe. This concert will take place on Thursday 20th October at 7.30pm in St Ewe Church and will feature the Imerys Mid Cornwall Male Choir and the Buccas Four Vocal Quartet from Newlyn. Tickets are just £5 with all monies raised going into the Church Repair Fund. Tickets can be purchased from Lobbs Farm Shop at Heligan, The Crown Inn at St Ewe and Pentewan Garage or by calling 01726 842159. Cake stall and raffle to be included. Wild Roseland - Fungus Foray, 10:0010:00 A Fungus Foray in woods alongside the River Fal near Ruan Lanihorne. This will be a joint event with the Cornwall Fungi Group and will be led by Pauline Penna of the CFG, so we will have experts on hand to help with identification. Note that we will be searching, observing and taking photos, not collecting for the cooking pot! This should be a nice ramble through the autumn woods, whether or not you are interested in Fungi, and will take about 2 hours. The woodland track is a reasonable path for walking, but some rummaging in undergrowth is likely; dogs allowed provided owners are well behaved and do not wander onto adjacent fields where there are livestock. |

The Trio thoroughly enjoyintroducing music to young audiences–they’ve worked with the Cavatina Chamber Music Trust andplayed at the Tiny Tots series at the Wigmore Hall. – and their involvement in workshops with local schools is eagerly anticipated. 27/01/2017(1 event) Holocaust Memorial Day, 10:00 – 11:0010:00 – 11:00 On the 27th January 1945 the Auschwitz concentration camp, where 1.3 million souls (mainly Jews) were exterminated, was liberated by Russian troops. This day has been designated International Holocaust Memorial Day. This day will be remembered between 10.00 and 11.00 at The Church of St Philleigh where visitors can light a candle in remembrance of those that perished. |

03/02/2017(1 event) Grampound Beer Festival, 19:00 – 20:0019:00 – 20:00 The third GRAMPOUND BEER FESTIVAL is on Friday 3rd February 7pm to 11pm (please note 7pm open to the public not 6pm as put on some earlier messages) AND Saturday 4th February from noon til 11pm. There will be 12 local beers and two ciders to tantalise your tase buds. Entry is £5 which includes a special commemorative glass and a token for your first half pint. Thereafter a half pint token costs £1.75 (so a pint is 2 tokens £3.50). There will again be magnificent food available to purchase separately with Sarah's famous pulled beef, home made burger, decent vegetarian options and snacks as well. Headline act on Friday night is Sarah McQuaid, on Saturday is MacQuarrie & Toms, plus other local performers during the day on Saturday. |
