02/09/2023Veryan Market is this Saturday 2nd September in Veryan Parish Hall, 10.30-12.30. We will have another new food producer plus our regular producers selling locally produced eggs, sausages, home-grown vegetables, local honey, cut-comb honey, beeswax candles and beeswax, a variety of savoury baking and home-baked cakes, home-made preserves, children’s books, garden shrubs, flowers and plants as well as hand-crafted items including cards, gifts, artwork, soft toys, books and more. Come and browse our stalls for that unusual, locally-produced gift or some tasty nibbles and at the same time meet up with your friends or neighbours over a cup of tea or cafetière coffee in friendly, relaxed surroundings - there will hopefully be something different that takes your fancy.
Hope to see you there!Veryan Parish HallVeryan, Truro TR2 5QA , -

It’s not often that an opportunity comes along to put on the only concert that an internationally renowned folk duo are performing in Cornwall. Not many people may be familiar with the name, Hungrytown, but they come with enthusiastic reviews, both from performances on their own turf of the United States, and also from previous tours of the UK, Europe and New Zealand.
St Symphorian Church, Veryan, will be hosting the duo on Tuesday, 10 October at 7.30 pm. Children under the age of 16 will be admitted free of charge provided they are accompanied by a paying adult. Tickets may be obtained from Cornwall Riviera Box Office, telephone 01726 63513, or by using the QR code which can be found on posters.

14/11/2023REACT invite you to our screening of the inspiring Cornish film
Hungry for Change by Cornwall Climate Care at The Harbour Club, Portscatho (TR2 5HH) on Tuesday 14th November at 7pm
We import nearly 50% of all our food in the UK, and waste one-third of it - so it is unsurprising that the food we eat and the way we produce it is responsible for a huge part of our carbon emissions. Cornwall Climate Care's Hungry for Change, looks at our reliance on this intensive, hyper-globalised, fossil fuel-driven food system - which is itself becoming more and more vulnerable to climate shocks. The film is presented by forager Josh Quick, who asks whether there are ways of producing more of our food locally and in more imaginative, but less damaging, ways. It takes a fascinating and inspiring look at a whole range of stories about hope, resilience and people doing some extraordinary things in Cornwall to counter the impacts of our broken food system.
Click here to watch the film trailer https://drive.google.com/file/d/116iAE6fdv5VOnttd7EtUBAi3X3BEYPa0/viewThere will be time afterwards for discussion about this thought-provoking film, and what it means for the Roseland. This is an opportunity to share thoughts, knowledge and experience, as well as to discuss practical steps we can take on the Roseland.
The film lasts 30 minutes and is family friendly- so all generations are welcome! And please share this invitation with friends and family! If you are able to come please car share if possible.

LYNNE HERAUD & PAT TURNER
Thursday 14th March at 7.30pmPat and Lynne are seasoned performers both as solo artistes and in groups. Together they produce a powerful and unique sound. Charismatic, humorous and quirky. They are not averse to a spot of outrage, social comment and ingenious, heart-warming smut. All presented with the same level of energy and precise vocal harmony with occasional concertina & guitar accompaniment.
From time to time they dress up as well, to devastating effect.Veryan Sports and Social ClubVeryan, -
