Can you spare some time to help others get online?

Having access to the internet can have many benefits – everything from finding the cheapest car insurance to ordering your prescriptions online; from submitting job applications to keeping in touch with friends and relations.

There are still however thousands of people in Cornwall that have never used the Internet and need support in learning the basics of getting online. The Superfast Cornwall Volunteer Network has therefore been set up to recruit volunteers right across Cornwall to help others to get to grips with using computers, and we’re currently looking for support in the St Mawes area!

There is demand for some basic computer training from residents in the area so if you think you might be able to help out as a volunteer supporting or leading sessions in the area then please do get in touch. You don’t need to be an expert in using computers, the main qualities we’re looking for in volunteers is patience and a willingness to help others to benefit from accessing the Internet.

To find out more about the work of the volunteer network and hear the experiences of some of our volunteers you can watch this short video on YouTube.

For more information, or to register your interest in becoming a digital volunteer in St Mawes, please contact Gavin Bolton – gavin@qacic.org.uk.
