Gerrans Parish Council News Update – December 2013

By way of an update on the controversial new signs put up along New Road by the car park, Gerrans Parish council would like to let residents know that the contractors have agreed to both reduce the number of signs and their height along the seaward side of the road in the coming weeks. There is a meeting planned for early next week to discuss this.

There is also a possibility of having the signs removed completely in future if the council agree to make the restrictions of parking there ‘At Any Time’ as opposed to the current ‘June to September’ limit, laid out in the initial planning application some three years previously. However this won’t be possible to instigate without a further planning application, so if this is agreed to be requested by the council, it will be added to the next planning application the council undertakes in the village so as not to use extra council funds.
