PORTSCATHO REGATTA 2016
This year’s Regatta is on Saturday August 27th – Bank Holiday Saturday. Lots happening throughout the day – sailing, sports, swimming, kayaking and a raft race – plus games, stalls, barbecue and plenty of live music.
Sports on Tatam’s beach will start at 10am, which is half an hour earlier than usual due to tide times. The sandcastle competition follows the sports. This will be challenging with the tide coming in! The raft race is at 12.15pm – how about making your own raft and joining in the fun this year?
At 1pm, outside the Plume of Feathers, Viv Robertson starts our live music. Meanwhile the magician will be entertaining the children in the Club. The barbecue will open at midday with the rest of the stalls starting at 1.30pm. In the afternoon there is kayaking, swimming and of course sailing. Music continues on the Lugger from 2pm with The Hoodle outside the Fisherman’s Shelter. Later outside the Plume Paul King’s Skeleton Crew will perform and of course St Dennis Band will be with us again.
Make a note of the date, Saturday August 27th, in your diary so you don’t miss this great day. If you would like to help, just for an hour or two, we would be delighted to hear from you – after all “many hands make light work”.
