Volunteers from all over Cornwall are hosting their annual Trewithen Country and Classics at Trewithen Gardens, Probus on Sunday 27 July. This will be the 3rd year, thanks to the support of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Galsworthy and family that Marie Curie volunteers have hosted a great day with many attractions including over 100 classic vehicles, displays of new luxury cars from local dealerships, a fun dog show, a host of craft, antique and food stalls. Visitors will have the opportunity to stroll through the beautiful gardens during the day.
Local choirs Local Vocalz, The Trengilley Singers, The Roseland Community Choir and soloist Lucy Anna will entertain visitors by the food village.
The event will be opened at 11am by Marie Curie County Patron, Alexandra Bolitho and the Bishop of St. Germans will join the day to close the ceremony on the circular lawn in front of the house at 4pm.
At 12noon there will be a display from the local Police Dog Handling team which will be followed at 12.30pm by the Fun Dog Show with classes to include ‘the best sausage catcher’.
Entry is only £5 per person, free for under 16yrs. This is a wonderful opportunity to support the work of the local Marie Curie Nursing Service. For every £20 raised this will fund 1 hour of local Marie Curie Nursing care in the community.
There will also be an information stand where you can learn more about the work of Marie Curie in Cornwall and how fundraising groups are helping to raise vital funds to ensure the Marie Curie Nurses can provide more care to more patients, whose choice is to die at home.
