Update From The Tregony Clockhouse Players!

Hi Panto fans, the Tregony Clockhouse Players wanted to give everyone a bit of an update. We would also like to take this opportunity to say a great big Thank-You for all the support shown for our 2014 production of Sinbad. The pantomime was a great success and it has been fantastic to hear all the positive feedback. But now it’s on to pasture anew….. or more aptly pantomimes anew!

The Clockhouse Players will be holding our Annual General Meeting on Wednesday May 21st at 7:30 pm in Tregony Village Hall and all interested parties are welcome to attend. This is when we elect our group officers and put together our publicity, marketing and fund raising teams. This is also when we start planning our yearly events and put the wheels in motion for choosing next year’s pantomime. A lot of work goes into staging the kind of productions we are known for. This is all made possible by the Clockhouse Players mining the varied talents & skills (both amateur and professional) of our members and the local community at large.

There are many opportunities for individuals to get involved in a number of areas besides treading the boards/on the stage. We are of course ALWAYS looking for adults (secondary school age and upwards) to join the adult chorus & to audition for principle roles! But we are also looking for people to join the stage construction, technical and back stage crews. All of these roles are vital to our productions, creating props, setting up scenery, making sure the performers are where they need to be, controlling lighting and sound. If you have sewing/costume skills and could spare some time in the winter months the costume department WANT to hear from you & would welcome you with open arms.

This year we would PARTICULARLY welcome the involvement of any individuals who could help us with publicity, marketing and sourcing sponsorship for our 2015 pantomime. If you are a retired Clockhouse Player member and the joys of the Gala Night have inspired you to tread the boards once more or to get involved behind the scenes, or you are new to the village and would like to get involved in a community group we would love to hear from you and hopefully meet you on the 21st of May. It’s a great time to find out about the group, what our focus is and where you might like to get involved. We promise there is a niche for everyone!

We would also like to put out a call out for anyone with directing experience interested in directing our 2015 pantomime. If you would like to direct a  Clockhouse Players pantomime, and have experience in staging productions of this nature please contact our group secretary, Emma Bullen (01872) 530600. She will be happy to forward you the director’s guidelines and give further advice about the specifics this role would require.

The annual pantomime here in Tregony is always highly anticipated. But as with all community events on this scale it takes a lot of time, effort and hard work from many dedicated individuals to get a project like this off the ground and seeing it through to completion in February half term week. So if you enjoy our pantomimes and never miss them.…why not take the next step and join us! You will be welcomed into a group that is right at the heart of village life. If you have been thinking for a while that you would like to get involved, but for whatever reason have not been able to, well there has never been a better time to come and meet us.

The Tregony Clockhouse Players stage pantomimes but we are also an active social group with events to look forward to throughout the year. Everyone is made very welcome. Ask any Clockhouse Player (current or past) and they will tell you that the build up to pantomime week brings fun, laughter and excitement to what would otherwise be a very dull time of the year.

Sadly we are living in a day and age where a lot of small community traditions are starting to fall away. The Clockhouse Players want to see the tradition of Pantomime, which has been thriving here in Tregony for over 35 years, continue going from strength to strength. However, in order for that to happen we need the support of our community to keep putting on the pantomimes that we love to stage and know that you enjoy watching.

Looking forward to seeing you on the 21st of May, 7:30pm at Tregony Village Hall….OH YES WE ARE!!!!!!
