Veryan Players’ next production. ‘Day of Reckoning’ by Pam Valentine will be on Thursday 21st, Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd November in Veryan Parish Hall.
As many of you will know, there is a lot of work needed to transform the hall into a theatrical venue and back again. On Saturday 16 November from 9 am the raked seating needs to be erected and everything has to be dismantled and put away on Sunday, 24 November from 10 am. The more volunteers the less time it will all take!
If you can help, even if only for an hour, please contact:
email@example.com or 01872 501618, indicating which dates you are available and for how long.
We also need an imitation stone cherub, approx 50cm high for the production. If you have one we can borrow, please contact Father Doug.
Even if you can’t help out, we would love to see you in the audience. Whether you are one of the many people who have had to organise local events, or have been ‘persuaded’ to help ‘on the day’, or have even just attended such an occasion you are likely to appreciate the humour in the play. It opens with a meeting in the village hall, where arrangements for the
summer fete are being discussed. The events of the day itself, the ‘Day of Reckoning’, with all its twists and turns, culminate in some startling revelations in the second half.
In addition to the comedy it explores the issues and dynamics of life in a small community. There are eight very realistic characters, including a hapless vicar!
Performances start at 7.30 pm.
Tickets, priced £6.00, may be booked by email:
