2 acre hillside garden surrounding the C17/C18th house. The garden has been entirely redesigned and substantially re-landscaped and planted - most of it over the last 15 years. The garden is still very young but the structure is emerging more strongly year on year. In the main part of the garden, a series of oval forms enclose lawns and a large pond and are defined and linked by gravel paths and yew hedges. Large mixed borders of shrubs, perennials and bulbs provide a long season of colour. There are also specialist areas of planting - gravel beds for succulents, a dry Mediterranean shrub bank, a lush 'hot garden', a damp pond border, a rose and paeony border and a woodland bank. A small walled kitchen garden is used for fruit, vegetables, chickens and has greenhouses for succulents and propagation. The planting is complex with over 1000 species and varieties.
