A meeting was held in St Mawes on March 18th to gauge interest in the St Just in Roseland Parish Plan. There has been a significant amount of residents and non-residents interested in the plan and an action group has been created to oversee the plan moving forward.
There is a follow up meeting planned for Monday, April 29th 18.45 at the Memorial Hall St Mawes.
Local food producers, growers and craftspeople with refreshments available. Come down for a friendly cuppa and chat and maybe something to nibble. Everyone welcome, doggies too. 10.30-12.30. See FB and Instagram for more information.

A traditional Country Fair in its 29th year and a great day out for all the family. Sunday 18th August 10am - 5pm, Adults £8, children U16 free. Locally produced food and a bar. Crugsillick Manor Open Garden for the National Garden Scheme, 11:00–17:00

2 acre hillside garden surrounding the C17/C18th house. The garden has been entirely redesigned and substantially re-landscaped and planted - most of it over the last 15 years. The garden is still very young but the structure is emerging more strongly year on year. In the main part of the garden, a series of oval forms enclose lawns and a large pond and are defined and linked by gravel paths and yew hedges. Large mixed borders of shrubs, perennials and bulbs provide a long season of colour. There are also specialist areas of planting - gravel beds for succulents, a dry Mediterranean shrub bank, a lush 'hot garden', a damp pond border, a rose and paeony border and a woodland bank. A small walled kitchen garden is used for fruit, vegetables, chickens and has greenhouses for succulents and propagation. The planting is complex with over 1000 species and varieties.
Two acre garden on three levels. The garden has been redesigned and planted over the last 15 years. It has several distinct areas, a ‘hot’ garden, a ‘cool’ border, rose border, pond, woodland bank and a kitchen garden. Lafafa catering’s famous filled pittas for lunch and teas,cakes etc. Plant stand. 11am- 5 pm.

Hidden under tons of earth for decades, the battery at St Anthony Head was pretty forgotten. Now it is opened up again you can come and find out about the history of the place, going back through different threats of invasion up to when it was finally decommissioned. Tours at 11am and 1.30pm (£5 suggested donation on the day for tours and free access to the outer battery area). Suitable for people of all ages.

The formal opening of the new Petanque playing area will take place with Deputy Lieutenant Jane Hartley and Petanque England officials and players marking the event. All welcome from 2.30 to see demonstrations, a plaque unveiling with a band, open competitions, an opportunity to have a go, a BBQ and music later in the day.

The Tregony Petanque Club new playing area launch is on July 20th. Jane Hartley, the Deputy Lord Lieutenant, a town crier and some of the Petanque England internationals will be there at 2.30 to open proceedings. Following the opening ceremony there will be a chance to play, watch some exhibition matches and join in the fun. Local band Hoodle are playing in the evening when there will also be a BBQ - a few tickets still left available at the Sports and Social Club. The new playing area was built by the members with funds raised by themselves. Local businesses alongside the local parish and Cornwall community chest gave funds. The members then designed and grew plants for a surrounding garden which has become a pleasure to enjoy whether you are playing Petanque or walking your dog around the playing fields. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the afternoon and see one of Britains fastest growing sports in action.

To mark the Feast of St Gerrans, we will be walking from St Gerrans Church
We will be gathering at Gerrans Church from 4pm, ready for a 4.30pm start.
The walk is 3.5 miles in length, however, those desiring a shorter walk can join at 5.30pm at Porth.
At St Anthony Church pasties and refreshments will be served, before an informal talk on the history of the church with Nigel Hare-Scott.
At 8pm the community bus will convey everyone back to their vehicles.

For over a decade, The Oggymen have championed contemporary Cornish folk music and celebrated the songs that bind us to our surroundings, to our community, and to our history.
For the first time in St Mawes, The Oggymen will perform their acclaimed arrangements of songs, which have been sung within Cornish communities for many years and will be for many more to come.
