Join us at Martin and Clare Tupper’s farm, where Hannah Gibbons, Colour in the Margins Project Officer, will lead discussions on the importance of arable plants in Cornwall and their requirements.
- Why are arable plants threatened?
- Environmental benefits of ‘weedy’ cultivated margins and corners
- Countryside Stewardship options that benefit arable plants
- We will also touch upon the topics of
- natural predators
- arable weed burden management
- soil preservation and water quality.
It is hoped that the group will be keen to discuss the commercial effect of managing for arable plants on their holdings and what might encourage or prevent them from doing so.
We will visit the fields at Gare Farm to look at arable plants and their management
If you have land under cultivation, then you can help with arable plant conservation! This includes maize, bulb and vegetable cropping.

Fleabag is a rip roaring account of some sort of woman living her sort of life. It is a monologue which follows the central character Fleabag over 3 days as her life unravels. Her best friend, Boo, has been tragically killed in a road accident leaving behind their guinea pig themed café, which is in dire economic straits. She might be willing to prostitute herself to save the café, if society didn’t deem this highly immoral.
To add insult to injury, her boyfriend Harry has left her, and her conviction that he’ll be back within a fortnight is slowly waning. She could ask her sister for the money, but they’re not all that close, in part due to the demands of her family life. On the surface Fleabag may seem over sexed, emotionally underdeveloped and narcissistic, but slowly her vulnerability emerges and some uncomfortable home truths are revealed.
Live Performance: £25 per person, with complimentary popcorn

Fleabag is a rip-roaring account of some sort of woman living her sort of life. It is a monologue which follows the central character Fleabag over 3 days as her life unravels. Her best friend, Boo, has been tragically killed in a road accident leaving behind their guinea pig themed café, which is in dire economic straits. She might be willing to prostitute herself to save the café if society didn’t deem this highly immoral.
To add insult to injury, her boyfriend Harry has left her, and her conviction that he’ll be back within a fortnight is slowly waning. She could ask her sister for the money, but they’re not all that close, in part due to the demands of her family life. On the surface, Fleabag may seem over-sexed, emotionally underdeveloped and narcissistic, but slowly her vulnerability emerges and some uncomfortable home truths are revealed.

A feuding fairy King and Queen of the forest cross paths with four runaway lovers and a troupe of actors trying to rehearse a play. As their dispute grows, the magical royal couple meddle with mortal lives leading to love triangles, mistaken identities and transformations… with hilarious, but dark consequences.
Shakespeare’s most famous romantic comedy will be captured live from the Bridge Theatre in London. Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), Oliver Chris (Green Wing, NT Live: Young Marx), David Moorst (NT Live: Allelujah!) and Hammed Animashaun (The Barber Shop Chronicles) lead the cast as Titania, Oberon, Puck and Bottom.
Directed by Nicholas Hytner, this production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream will build on the success of his immersive staging of Julius Caesar (NT Live 2018). The Bridge Theatre will become a forest – a dream world of flying fairies, contagious fogs and moonlight revels, surrounded by a roving audience following the action on foot.

Hansard; noun
The official report of all parliamentary debates.
It’s a summer’s morning in 1988 and Tory politician Robin Hesketh has returned home to the idyllic Cotswold house he shares with his wife of 30 years, Diana. But all is not as blissful as it seems. Diana has a stinking hangover, a fox is destroying the garden, and secrets are being dug up all over the place. As the day draws on, what starts as gentle ribbing and the familiar rhythms of marital sparring quickly turns to blood-sport.
A witty and devastating new play.
“Touching and illuminating all at once.” – The Times
“Engrossing and incisive. Performances take the breath away.” – WhatsOnStage
“Deliciously witty. Jennings and Duncan are a truly dynamic duo.” – Broadway World

Matthew Warchus directs Andrew Scott (BBC’s Sherlock, Fleabag) in Noël Coward’s provocative comedy Present Laughter.
As he prepares to embark on an overseas tour, star actor Garry Essendine’s colourful life is in danger of spiralling out of control. Engulfed by an escalating identity crisis as his many and various relationships compete for his attention, Garry’s few remaining days at home are a chaotic whirlwind of love, sex, panic and soul-searching.
Captured live from The Old Vic in London, Present Laughter is a giddy and surprisingly modern reflection on fame, desire and loneliness.
“Andrew Scott’s revelatory performance shows why Noël Coward is hailed a genius.” – Telegraph
“A treat of a production: a timely depiction of the hollow nature of fame.” – Financial Times
“The show belongs to Scott…” – The Times
Live Performance: £25 per person, with complimentary popcorn
