Our popular country show returns after a 2 year gap. We are really pleased to once again hold this event for locals and families which provides a great day out and raises money for local charities and good causes. The children’s races will take place on Saturday 27th August on Tatam’s Beach, with the first race starting at 11.30am. Hidden under tons of earth for decades, the battery at St Anthony Head was pretty forgotten. Now it's opened up again you can come and find out about the history of the place, going back through different threats of invasion up to when it was finally decommissioned. Discover the cold war secrets hidden up on Nare Head
Join our tours by local expert Lawrence Holmes and the ROC team and hear the stories behind what went on in a nuclear bunker and the neighbouring starfish bunker.
The nuclear bunker is the only preserved ROC nuclear bunker in the south-west open to the public on a regular basis and the decoy command bunker is the only known preserved one of its type in the UK. Together they make Veryan Bunkers a unique site to visit.

We serve coffee, tea, soft drinks, fruit, biscuits and homemade cakes. GF & Veg. We do not charge but ask for a donation, (every little helps, but please no shrapnel or foreign coins) generously we usually serve two/three drinks and extra slices of cake. A cheap and cheerful morning out.

Roseland Music Society - Ruth Wall : Harpland 'Three Harps', 19:30

Ruth performs on stages around the world – at the Royal Albert Hall, Sydney Opera House, Berlin Philharmonic, Radio City New York, and as part of the London Olympics celebrations. She has featured as soloist with the London Chamber Orchestra and the BBC Concert Orchestra, and toured extensively with the band Goldfrapp, Kathryn Tickell, Ockham's Razor and Graham Fitkin. She appears regularly on BBC Radio and features in films including ‘Loving Vincent’ and ‘The White Queen’.
The wonderful Tresillian Singers ladies choir will be performing in a Christmas concert with some superb Christmas songs to be followed by mince pies and mulled wine. Free admission with a retiring collection

The Church and gardens will host a magnificent display of themed Christmas Trees over 12 days of the Christmas season starting on 18th December, culminating in a two-day Festival of Christmas celebration on 29th and 30th December. On top of that there will be mood lighting leading up to the 29th and then during the two main days, the 29th and 30th, extra lights in and around the Church will enhance the area.
Open to all the community, the Christmas Trees will form a backdrop for light hearted seasonal music, plus sing along carols, mini-drama, craft sessions for children and lots of mince pies and mulled wine for all. The evening will not be complete without a visit to the Victorian Sweet Shop and bran tub, then why not round off the celebration and join family and friends at a Hog Roast Feast, together with Toffee Apples, whilst listening to the seasonals tunes from the Wurlitzer
