A moment like forever – Martina Reilly

After a road accident in Australia, Andy returns home and locks herself in her flat, cutting herself off from her former life and building a new one to accommodate her facial scar and fear of people’s reaction to it. Her travelling companion, Lexi, disappeared after the accident and hasn’t been in touch with her family or friends since.

This is the story of Andy’s attempts to return to normality, the uncovering of Lexi’s new life and the reason she hasn’t contacted anyone. It’s also a wider story about loneliness.

Verdict: A mystery romance or a romantic mystery; I’m not sure which. An enjoyable, easy to read novel with interesting and believable characters and a great twist near the end. ****
