Wind River Starring Kelsey Asbille, Jeremy Renner, Julia Jones Directed by Taylor Sheridan

Cory Lambert is a wildlife officer who stumbles across the corpse of an 18-year-old woman on an American Indian reservation in the snowy mountains of Wyoming. The autopsy reveals that she was raped, so FBI agent Jane Banner arrives to investigate.

Teaming up with Lambert as her guide, the duo soon discover that their lives are in danger whilst trying to solve the mystery of the teenager’s murder.

Gotta be said, I do like a Jeremy Renner movie and this didn’t disappoint. Although understated, it did have a surprising punch. Not quite the smouldering emotional rollercoaster that is Manchester by the Sea, it did have some nice underlying currents and was well delivered by all parties.

Verdict: A solid movie which engages from start to finish ****
