Gerrans Parish Heritage Centre – Queens Platinum Jubilee Exhibition

Gerrans Parish Heritage Centre is planning a special updated exhibition – “70 years in the parish” – to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. We want to build on and expand the materials we have collected for previous Jubilees, to show how life here has evolved over the seventy-year period of the Queen’s reign.

The plan is to focus on the many changes we have seen during the last 10 years or so and to add accounts and memorabilia from anyone who would like to contribute. We hope to record changes and key events in our community across all aspects of life, including businesses, tourism, hospitality, education, social and charitable organisations, the environment and any more that may be suggested to us. We particularly want to highlight special events or achievements that illustrate our friendly, vibrant community.

Several local people and organisations have already promised to give information but we can always find room for more!  So we are interested in hearing from anyone who may be interested in providing anything, either on loan or as donations.  But we will need this by 20th March as the exhibition will go live at Easter and continue throughout the summer as part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

If you’d like to get involved you are most welcome to call Kate Greet on 07557 749163 or just pop along to 10 Tregassick Road in Gerrans to talk about ideas.  Any materials can be emailed to
