Inside Job

Directed by Charles Ferguson and narrated by Matt Damon

From Academy Award nominated filmmaker, Charles Ferguson (No End In Sight), comes the first film to expose the shocking truth behind the economic crisis of 2008. The global financial meltdown, at a cost of over $20 trillion, resulted in millions of people losing their homes and jobs. Through extensive research and interviews with major financial insiders, politicians and journalists, Inside Jobtraces the rise of a rogue industry and unveils the corrosive relationships which have corrupted politics, regulation and academia.

This is a shocking film on so many levels; how the people involved try to wriggle out of their predicament; how the congress and government seemed to turn a blind eye to the obvious and, more shockingly of all, how the perpetrators are not only free to enjoy their ill gotten gains, but are still gainfully employed by government at the financial sector as if nothing ever happened.

Verdict: A disturbing, but superbly made film that truly deserves its Oscar win. *****
