New Local Befriending Scheme for Roseland

05.03.11: The RAP PPG and Friends of Probus Surgery have teamed up with the Upper Fal Cluster Befriending Group to offer a new scheme which gives anyone a FREE trained, selected and CRB checked Befriender who can do home visits or offer chats over the telephone. The scheme will:

·    Be available to all sexes, all ages & all areas (Roseland, Tregony, Tresillian, Probus, Sticker, Caerhays, Grampound, Grampound Road , St Stephen and all surrounding hamlets/villages)

·         Try to compatibility match the scheme user and their befriender

·         Offer a shared stroll out, visit to shop, pub or theatre or other activities

·         Provide companionship for the isolated or housebound or elderly

·         Offer someone to have a chat and cup of tea with regularly or as a one-off

·         Offer to read a book for sight-impaired

·         Become a new and valuable friend

·         Operate under a church & adult social care umbrella

·         Be open to all, regardless of religious beliefs
