Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman sustained fatal injuries following a collision on the B3275 at Brighton Cross Roundabout, Summercourt, Cornwall.

Officers were notified at around 4.25pm yesterday afternoon, Tuesday 1 August, to reports of a single car collision approximately 100 yards from the Brighton Cross Roundabout.

The driver, a woman in her 50s, was the only occupant in the car and died as a result of injuries sustained.

The victim was driving a blue Nissan Micra which was travelling from the direction of Fraddon towards Laddock when it crossed the carriageway and left the road.

The road was closed for just under five hours whilst officers from Camborne, Bodmin and Plymouth attended and commenced a forensic scene examination.
