This year’s Regatta is on Saturday, 24th August. But, we have had to take the unprecedented step of holding the sandcastle competition on Friday, 23rd August! The tide on Saturday is not playing ball, so the sandcastle competition will start at 4 pm on the Friday. There will be an added bonus of Jumping Out Jazz Duo, strolling musicians, who will keep competitors and spectators, entertained on the beach. Later that day, from 7-9pm, there will be live music from Weazeldust, outside the Plume of Feathers.
Swimming races will kick off Saturday’s events at 10.30am, followed by stand up paddle board races at 11.15am. The BBQ will open at midday and the magic show will entertain the children in the Harbour Club from 12:30.
Mike Fox will start the live music at 1pm, outside the Plume of Feathers. The stalls and sideshows open at 1.30pm, on the Lugger. The Punch and Judy show starts at 2pm, next to The Boathouse. Live music with The Hoodle takes place outside the Fisherman’s Shelter from 2-4pm. Races, for children of all ages, will commence at 4pm on the beach. The Prevention will be doing two live music sessions outside the Plume. Their first performance is at 5pm, and then again at 8pm. The ever-popular St Dennis Band return this year, so be sure to join in the Flora Dance at 6:30pm, followed by their ever-popular concert.
Sailing will commence at 2pm. For details of sailing, phone Tony on 01872 580 274.
Don’t forget the children’s fancy dress competition. The theme for this year is ‘The Jungle’. Keep an eye out on our Facebook page, and posters in the village, for further details.
