Roseland Businesses Fundraise for Typhoon Victims

king_harry_ferryTwo businesses around the Roseland have recently raised nearly £1400 for local charities to help those hit by Super Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.

King Harry Ferry kindly donated all takings on the King Harry Ferry from Wednesday 13 November, totalling £800, and last night the Atlantic Fryer in Portscatho donated its entire evening’s takings towards the same charity, ShelterBox.

Owner of Atlantic Fryer, Ross McLachlan, told Roseland Online, “I really wanted us to make enough for a whole box [approx. £570] and with kind added donations, we actually made £585. I’m absolutely delighted!”

There have been many more donations like this, including Susanne Hatwood of The Blue Carrot who is donating the profits of her next event towards helping those in need and there is a Philippine Disaster Fundraiser Quiz Night next Saturday 23rd November at 7.00p.m in the St Mawes Memorial Hall.

If you have raised money, Roseland Online would love to hear about it. Add your comment in the box below and inspire others to help towards this worthy cause where they can.
