Roseland Christmas Trees for Shelterbox – NOW SOLD OUT

christmastree2Local businessman, Duncan Backus, is offering his field of Christmas trees to raise funds for those affected by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.

This is another in a line of businesses on the Roseland who are helping towards this excellent cause.

The trees are ready for collection and a donation is asked for for each. Duncan told Roseland Online, “Of course they are not all perfect farmed ‘Christmas’ tree specimens but we would hope that this year you could consider buying one of these.  The sizes range from 3 feet to 12 feet but of course they can be trimmed to size or fit into the corner of a room etc.

christmastree1Rather than having them all cut down (in case they don’t sell) Duncan will cut them once ordered and they can be picked up at the customer’s convenience. There are about 20 trees available.

Duncan added, “All money raised will go to ShelterBox. There is a suggested price of £10 for the smaller trees and £15 for the larger ones, but of course are happy if people can pay more or even a smaller donation would be fantastic. And if you decide when you come to collect that it isn’t quite right, then there is no obligation to buy the tree.”

Those interested in supporting this excellent (and timely) fundraiser, or to ask questions or oder a tree, can contact Duncan under duncanbackus1@yahoo.co.uk or phone him on: 07768 533 152.
