Roseland Plan Update – July 2016

Spin-off Activities

The Roseland Plan flagged several spin-off activities. Four are in progress currently:

(i) Planning Assessment Group – The Group continues to give advice to the Parish Councils and our Cornwall Councillor. The information will also allow us to judge the effectiveness of the Plan over time.

(ii) Conservation Area Management Plan Group – Considerable progress has been made on generating a draft document for Veryan Conservation Area. This has been reviewed by the relevant Officer in Cornwall Council. It is hoped that it won’t be too long before the revised document can be discussed with Veryan Parish Council and then subjected to public consultation before being finalised. Other Conservation Areas will then be tackled in turn.

(iii) Wild Roseland Group – The group is becoming very active  (see http://www.roselandplan.org/wild-roseland-project.html). If you would like to receive information and/or get involved, please email wildroselandgroup@gmail.com.

(iv) Community Land Trust (CLT) – The St Just Community Land Trust has been transformed into an organisation focused on delivering affordable housing across the whole Roseland. It is now beginning to establish sources of finance and identify potential properties for conversion or sites for building. If you have any potential sites or buildings you think might be suitable, please contact us for a confidential discussion. Finally, if you have skills that you think might be appropriate and are willing to give time and effort to this enterprise, please contact us.

Other spin-offs flagged in the Plan are planned for the next few months.
