Following received from Roseland Surgeries
A patient received a text message from an unknown mobile phone number quite clearly with the NHS banner at the top (blue background white lettering). It started:- “We have identified that you are eligible to apply for your vaccination. For more information and to apply, click here….”
He pressed the continue button and was then taken to a link “application-UKform.com” – he clicked on the link and he was sent to another website, NHS banner present as before with a menu option to click onto “Coronavirus (covid-19) vaccine”
There was then a further screen with T&Cs to read “before applying”……….clicking on the next link took him to a further page where it read, in a yellow box: “The NHS will let you know when it is your turn. It is important not to contact the NHS before then” It then took him to a page when it said in order to sign up he needed to be over the age of 18 and have an email address. Then, a further click to another page “Vaccination sign up – apply now” – you click on continue, enter your demographic data and then it asks for bank details!!!
This all seemed perfectly legitimate until bank details were requested – beware it is a scam.
