24/07/2017(3 events) Veryan Bunker Tours (1100 and 1330), 11:00 Join our tours by local expert Lawrence Holmes and find out the stories behind what went on in a nuclear bunker as well as the nearby, strangely named, starfish bunker. The nuclear bunker is the only preserved ROC nuclear bunker in the south west open to the public on a regular basis and the decoy command bunker is the only known preserved one of its type in the UK. Booking details: Call Lawrence Holmes on 01872 278234 (please note volunteer's landline) Admission is £5 per person (inc NT members). Dogs welcome outside only. Come and join us!! Philleigh Fayre, 18:30 With fun attractions like the barbecue, greasy pole, sheaf pitching, skittle alley, coconut shy, archery, nail driving, darts, dog show, dog and sheep racing.
There’s also bric a brac, books, cakes and plants not to mention the steam engine, barrel organ, pony rides and much more!

29/07/2017(4 events) Hugh Boscowen Alms House Charity Party, 14:00 – 16:00 – Hugh Boscowen Alms House Charity Cream Tea and cakes garden party. There will be an interesting history of the Alms houses on show. Free Entrance and a warm welcome. Cream Teas in aid of St Rumon's Church, 14:30 – 17:00 – Cream Teas in aid of St. Rumon's Church, Ruan Lanihorne. Donations of cakes/produce and items for the Raffle will be gratefully accepted.
If inclement the event will be held in the Reading Room.
