Philleigh Folk - Martyn Babb Philleigh Folk - Martyn Babb
29/11/2017For our last offering before a Christmas break, we present Martyn Babb. Roger Bryant told us at Bude Festival to “listen to this man, he’s a great entertainer” and boy, was he right!! Martyn is difficult to categorise, a folk singer and musician, certainly, but he is much more than that. He is an MC, a comic, a teller of tales….. - the term entertainer probably best sums him up. We can promise a great start to the festive season……

01/12/2017Rosanna Ter-Berg’s striking performances have led her to be described as ‘super-charged’ with ‘unstinting virtuosity and personality’. Roseanna and Leo were due to play during February 2014, but sadly the weather decreed otherwise. It has taken some time to rearrange a visit but at last we can enjoy this highly rated pair. A varied and interesting programme with a French flavour has something for everyone.Members £10 Non-Members £13 Students £5 -

The Ministry of Biscuits The Ministry of Biscuits
–
12/05/201812th May 7.30 Grampound Hall. THE MINISTRY OF BISCUITS! Superb national touring comedy.....Stop! Think before you eat that biscuit! Is it in any way fancy? If so, then you are a criminal! London, 1948 – The Ministry of Biscuits casts its sinister shadow over every tea-time and elevenses in the land. Established to “control biscuits, and to control the idea of biscuits,” it prohibits decadent sweetmeats, such as the Gypsy Cream. But when Cedric Hobson, a junior designer, falls in love and designs a biscuit to “shake confectionery to its very foundations,” his world – and the ministry – are turned upside down. Tickets £9/£7/£25 (family 4) from CRBO online, Grampound store or 01726 883874
“What an absolutely ripping wheeze…a top-hole musical comedy without a trace of Lloyd Webber anywhere…a highly entertaining, clever show, packed with neat one liners…a festival gem.” – The Stage
“Delightful…The songs are often genuinely funny…A great show!” – The Scotsman
“Wonderfully done, delightful and one of the best family shows on the fringe.” – The List
