Hidden under tons of earth for decades, the battery at St Anthony Head was pretty forgotten. Now it's opened up again you can come and find out about the history of the place, going back through different threats of invasion up to when it was finally decommissioned. Suitable for people of all ages. Booking details: Call 01872 580553 Admission is £5 (suggested donation for tours) and free access to the outer battery area. The nuclear bunker is the only preserved ROC nuclear bunker in the south west open to the public on a regular basis and the decoy command bunker is the only known preserved one of its type in the UK. After racing on St Mawes Regatta day, competitors and their friends will be most welcome to visit St Mawes where excellent teas will be served in StMSC's clubhouse before the prize giving at 1815. Furthermore, on the quay there will be musical entertainment (including Black Velvet in the afternoon and Tors in the evening), a bar and a barbeque throughout the afternoon and evening. – The self-proclaimed King of Kernow has been touring for the last six years, and boy, has he come a long way. From pasties to dogging, politics to dialect, there isn't a subject matter that the King hasn't talked and laughed about. The event will take place in the marquee at Tregony Sports Club with licensed bar available. Come along for what is guaranteed to be a hilarious evening!! Maybe in August more than any other time of the year, our thoughts turn to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. The RNLI are very active round our Cornish coast, particularly in the summer months. Our local station is at Falmouth where a celebration was held recently to commemorate 150 years of service.

Roseanna and Leo were due to play during February 2014, but sadly the weather decreed otherwise. It has taken some time to rearrange a visit but at last we can enjoy this highly rated pair.
