Roseland Online Photographic Fayre a Success

15.08.11: The first Roseland Online Photographic Fayre was a great success this weekend. A steady flow of visitors came through the doors and the reaction was one of amazement at the talent we hold in the photographic field on the Roseland.

Nick Tomalin (our own RSPB features writer) and his colleague, Stuart Croft were displaying their superb wildlife photos, and specialist landscape photographers Barney Nicholls (www.bluegreenblue.co.uk) and Raymond Bradshaw (who has his own shop in St Mawes) enjoyed rave reactions, too.

Other favourites amongst the group were Lucy Tozer, Sarah Vandome and semi professional, Eshter Lewis, (www.estherphotography.co.uk) whose unusual images had everyone (including my wife. Ed.) fascinated.

Mary Alice Pollard (www.justnicephotos.com), with her varied wildlife and landscape photos of the Roseland, had an especially good day and was very keen to keep the momentum up by having another soon. Mary told Roseland Online,

“It was an absolutely wonderful day and great to see so many locals and visitors enjoying our work. I truly hope we can do it again very soon; the atmosphere was lovely and it was great to meet up with other photographers, too.”

So, taking Mary’s cue, we are delighted to announce another Roseland Online Photographic Fayre on Saturday October 22nd, this time in St Mawes Memorial Hall. It will run from 10am to 2pm and we hope everyone will come ut and support the work of our local photgraphers… and buy some of their work!

Of course, if you’d just like to come and browse, we’d love to see you, too. Not least that we have one of the Roseland’s undiscovered talents, Hartmut (Hardy) Strahl baking his impossibly addictive homemade cakes again in October; so there’s a great reason to visit alone!
