St Anthony’s Noyse

St Anthony’s Noyse

Every Saturday morning, at 9.15, in the Memorial Hall, Portscatho

This is suitable for young and old players of any ability.  We have a great time practising and performing on The Roseland.

We’re appealing for new or returning members to come and join our friendly band.  We came into existence well over forty years ago, thanks to the inspiration of the extraordinary Jennet Campbell, and were primarily a children’s band with between thirty and forty regular players.

In recent years we have been gradually getting smaller and there is now a very real possibility that we may cease to exist if we cannot find new players.  This would be a shame after being a fixture in the community for so long.  Our public appearances now are one or two Lifeboat services in the summer, a few visits to Miss V’s café by St Just church and a succession of pre-Christmas events throughout December, and we feel that as well as enjoying ourselves we do still provide a public service.  We play a wide variety of very accessible music, which we rehearse every Saturday morning, at 9.15, in the Memorial Hall, Portscatho.  We welcome all brass and woodwind players, so if you have an instrument providing a home for spiders somewhere give it a blow through and come and join us.  We know you’re out there!  All instruments would be welcome.
