13.11.11: Roundhouse Barn Holidays and Pollaughan Farm Cottages were awarded three prestigious awards at the 2011 Cornwall Tourism Awards on Wednesday 9th November. The awards confirm the Roseland Peninsula as the destination in Cornwall for visitors looking for that unique blend of luxury accommodation coupled with high levels of personal service.
Barbara and Mark Sadler, owners of Roundhouse Barn Holidays, were judged best small self-‐catering business in Cornwall. They were also runners up in the best B&B in Cornwall category. Valerie & Tim Penny, owners of Pollaughan Farm Cottages, were awarded silver in the small self-‐catering category.
Commenting on the awards, Barbara Sadler told Roseland Online, “We’re delighted with the recognition we’ve received. It’s the second consecutive year we’ve won both of these awards. It demonstrates the consistency and quality of the service we provide.
Valerie Penny added, ”We first won the best self catering in the south west 8 years ago so are delighted that we are still up there alongside the more niche ‘boutique’ end of the market. Our business is all about offering superb accommodation for everyone whilst combining sustainability, accessibility and exceptional customer service and it’s great to be recognised for this.
Roundhouse Barn Holidays and Pollaughan Farm Cottages work closely together to market The Roseland Peninsula as a luxury holiday destination. They also share an ethos and commitment that caring for their local environment and helping educate their visitors to do the same will help ensure the preservation of the Roseland’s natural beauty, both holding Gold Green Tourism awards.
The 10th Annual Cornwall Tourism Awards were held at St Mellion Golf and Country Club. BBC Radio Cornwall’s Daphne Skinnard hosted the evening and TV celebrity Sue Perkins awarded prizes to the winners.
