Roseland Bridge Club is a small friendly club for people who would like to play something a bit different from the normal ‘kitchen’ rubber bridge and to meet more local players.

We play mainly duplicate (but also teams or individual, depending on numbers) in a NO FEAR environment. You do not need to bring a partner, and will be assured of a warm welcome. Prior notice is appreciated but not necessary. We are not affiliated to the EBU.

We play each Tuesday evening from 7.30pm until about 10.00pm (with a break for coffee/tea and a biscuit) in the Millennium Rooms at St Mawes. The season runs from September until July with two weeks out at Christmas and Easter.

Costs are £2.00 per session (including refreshments) or, for regulars, £30 per season and £1.00 per session.

  • Hello Michael,
We are complete bridge novices and have never played before.
Do you do beginners lessons, or can you recommend how best to start?
    Grateful for your advice/guidance
    Best wishes
    John and Jill

    • Dear John,
I would be doing you an injustice if I did not tell you that the best way to learn bridge is to go to an EBU(English Bridge Union) accredited professional teacher. You might find one it Truro or the EBU website will give you information.
However if you can muster one other pair I would be happy to run a series of lessons through the winter, taking yo to at least the point where you would enjoy the Roseland Bridge Club, or an informal domestic game. It is VERY much more productive to teach multiples of four.
If you are interested please contact me.
      Best wishes,
      Michael
