Hansard (NT Live), 19:00

07/11/2019

Hansard; noun
The official report of all parliamentary debates.
It’s a summer’s morning in 1988 and Tory politician Robin Hesketh has returned home to the idyllic Cotswold house he shares with his wife of 30 years, Diana. But all is not as blissful as it seems. Diana has a stinking hangover, a fox is destroying the garden, and secrets are being dug up all over the place. As the day draws on, what starts as gentle ribbing and the familiar rhythms of marital sparring quickly turns to blood-sport.
A witty and devastating new play.
“Touching and illuminating all at once.” – The Times
“Engrossing and incisive. Performances take the breath away.” – WhatsOnStage
“Deliciously witty. Jennings and Duncan are a truly dynamic duo.” – Broadway World
Live Performance: £25 per person, with complimentary popcorn

Present Laughter (NT Live), 19:00

28/11/2019

Matthew Warchus directs Andrew Scott (BBC’s Sherlock, Fleabag) in Noël Coward’s provocative comedy Present Laughter.
As he prepares to embark on an overseas tour, star actor Garry Essendine’s colourful life is in danger of spiralling out of control. Engulfed by an escalating identity crisis as his many and various relationships compete for his attention, Garry’s few remaining days at home are a chaotic whirlwind of love, sex, panic and soul-searching.
Captured live from The Old Vic in London, Present Laughter is a giddy and surprisingly modern reflection on fame, desire and loneliness.
“Andrew Scott’s revelatory performance shows why Noël Coward is hailed a genius.” – Telegraph
“A treat of a production: a timely depiction of the hollow nature of fame.” – Financial Times
“The show belongs to Scott…” – The Times
Live Performance: £25 per person, with complimentary popcorn

Veryan Christmas Market
This coming Saturday, 7th December, will see our many local producers (and a new butcher!) selling their varied offerings. These include Gill’s bread, Carol’s pasties, local vegetables, lamb, organic sausages/hog’s pudding and bacon, eggs, locally caught fresh fish, local honey and beeswax candles, a selection of delicious cakes, quiches, pies, samosas, falafels, katchouris, etc, granola, home-made preserves, garden shrubs and plants, beautiful posies of cut flowers, flower seeds, Cornish short stories and children’s books, hand-crafted items including beeswax wraps, cards, gifts, artwork, Christmas decorations, wreaths, etc. Come and see what we have to offer and at the same time indulge in a cup of tea or cafetière coffee with a slice of scrumptious cake for only £1.50, in friendly, relaxed surroundings. Meet up with your friends or neighbours and see if there's something different that takes your fancy for Christmas.
See you there!

Clockhouse Player Panto - ' Ali-Baba & the Forty Thieves (until 22/2), 19:30 22:00

19/02/2020

Our pantomime this year is very loosely based on one of the tales from 1001 Arabian Nights (but with the removal of the more bloodthirsty elements). However, we have maintained all the traditional elements of pantomime, with evil baddies to boo, dashing heroes to cheers, a dame to laugh with, singing and dancing, glamorous costumes, fabulous sets, not to mention an irascible parrot and a stubborn old camel! We promise you a pantomime full of fun and frolics for the whole family to enjoy. Of course, a happy ending is a certainty, but you will have to visit Tregony Village Hall in February half-term week to find out the rest. So brighten up your New Year and join us for ‘Ali-Baba & the Forty Thieves’. Tickets will be on sale in Londis Shop, Tregony (530633) from Monday 13th January. If you can’t wait until then to get your ticket, Lynne will be happy to take ‘Early Bird’ bookings and block booking of 10+ with generous discounts (01872 530374).
