Photographic Exhibition - Spirit of Junior Race Week (until 25/8), 10:30 – 17:00 – A second exhibition of photographs by James Hatchley, celebrating the institution that is the St Mawes Sailing Club Junior Race Week. Veryan Bunker Tours (1100 and 1330), 11:00 Join our tours by local expert Lawrence Holmes and the ROC team and hear the stories behind what went on in a nuclear bunker and the neighbouring starfish bunker. Tide Fight, 14:00 Last sandcastle standing! Come and beat the tide! Free entry, registration from 2.00pm. Cream Teas on the Lugger, 15:00 – 17:00 – Every Monday in July and August. The Summer House at Fern Cottage (Tues and Thurs), 10:00 – 16:00 – Selling the Veryan T-towels, mugs and memorabilia, also jewellery, hand made crafts and pictures. Roseland Community Transport: Roseland Tour, 14:15 Afternoon tour of the Roseland Peninsula visiting beauty spots and areas of interest off the beaten track with a planned stop for afternoon tea (inclusive ticket). RSPG Pop in for Ping Pong, 15:00 – 18:00 – All ages welcome - from 5 to 95! Come on your own…..or with friends and family. All equipment provided. |
21/08/2019(4 events) Veryan Community Café, 09:30 – 12:30 – Do come along every other Wednesday! We are popular with all age groups - from regulars to young mums, walkers, holidaymakers and some local men from the village. Menu includes home-made cakes, biscuits and savouries with GF and vegan options. Cornish coffee, selection of teas fruit & decaf, hot chocolate, fruit juice also fresh fruit all served! A donation of at least £2 per person per head to cover costs will be requested. Books and magazines sold for a small fee....or there is the option to book swap. 23/08/2019(2 events) St Mawes Art Group Summer Exhibition (until 31/8), 10:00 – 16:00 – Free entry, do come along. Portscatho Regatta Sandcastle Competition, 16:00 – 17:00 – We have had to take the unprecedented step of holding the sandcastle competition on Friday, 23rd August! The tide on Saturday is not playing ball, so the sandcastle competition will start at 4 pm on Friday. There will be an added bonus of Jumping Out Jazz Duo, strolling musicians, who will keep competitors and spectators, entertained on the beach. Later that day, from 7-9pm, there will be live music from Weazeldust, outside the Plume of Feathers. |
24/08/2019(2 events) St Mawes Art Group Summer Exhibition (until 31/8), 10:00 – 16:00 – Free entry, do come along. Portscatho Regatta, 10:30 Swimming races will kick off Saturday’s events at 10.30am, followed by stand up paddleboard races at 11.15am. The BBQ will open at midday and the magic show will entertain the children in the Harbour Club from 12:30. The stalls and sideshows open at 1.30pm, on the Lugger. The Punch and Judy show starts at 2pm, next to The Boathouse. Sailing starts at 2.00pm. Music throughout the day! |
25/08/2019(6 events) St Mawes Art Group Summer Exhibition (until 31/8), 10:00 – 16:00 – Free entry, do come along. Percuil Regatta, 10:30 – 17:00 – A family friendly village regatta with something for everyone - spectators and sailors alike! In addition to the usual sailing races, this year we have selected some of the children from our schools sailing programme to join in with a coached racing event. As always, there will be lots of homemade food to enjoy in this beautiful location. Thank you to our generous sponsors; The Outdoor Hub (event) and Portscatho Holidays (prizes). All funds raised will go to Roseland Youth Sailing Trust and the RNLI. Please support us and buy loads of raffle tickets!! Photographic Exhibition - Spirit of Junior Race Week (until 25/8), 10:30 – 17:00 – A second exhibition of photographs by James Hatchley, celebrating the institution that is the St Mawes Sailing Club Junior Race Week. Crugsillick Manor: Open Garden for the National Garden Scheme, 11:00 – 17:00 – A 2 acre garden, redesigned and planted over the last 10 years. The gardens are on several levels and feature large mixed borders, lawns, a pond and a kitchen garden. RNLI Lifeboat Service, 16:00 Shout depending, the Falmouth All Weather Lifeboat will be in Portscatho Yoga on Pendower Beach (sponsored), 17:30 – 19:00 – Beach Yoga at Pendower beach this Sunday |
