St Mawes Platinum Jubilee Celebrations 2022

05/06/2022

Sunday 5th June is the day the road in St Mawes is closed and we can hold a major event on the Quay in the morning followed by The Big Lunch all along the seafront.
Everyone who lives in the Parish and wants to send a big vote of thanks to H M The Queen for her seventy years of unstinting devotion to duty, is invited to take part by joining in this glorious event.
You and all your friends are invited to take part in the Grand Procession, preferably identifying yourselves with a bold emblem or banner which for example represents:
1, A local organisation or business, much as is done every year at St Just Feast but much larger, including WI, Social Club, Guides, Scouts, Sailors, Ramblers, Tradespeople. Hotels, Shops, etc,
Or 2 Events in The Queen's life: Wartime pantomimes in Windsor Castle
ATS Service as a driver and car mechanic, Marriage and family, The Coronation
Trooping the Colour and Military involvement, Poppy Day, Commonwealth Tours
Or 3 The Queen's personal interests: Corgis, Labradors, Dorgis Horses, flat racing, jockeys, Scotland, Bagpipes, Pigeon Racing
Or 4 Different decades, styles and fashion notably 1940s austerity, The New Look & the 1960s
Or 5Anything significant and relevant to The Queen and the Parish that you can think of
*** Dressing up in the appropriate clothing is warmly welcomed. St Mawes School will help with making Banners and Symbols.
If you would like to be involved in any way with the preparations for the Procession or could gather together and lead a small group in the Procession, please contact
