These include Gill’s home-made bread, Carol’s pasties, a selection of delicious cakes, quiches, pies, etc, granola, organic meats and eggs, home-made preserves, local bee products (including honey - hooray!), bedding plants, garden shrubs and unusual seeds, children’s books, hand-crafted items including beeswax wraps, cards, gifts, artwork, etc. Come and see what we have to offer and at the same time indulge in a cup of tea or cafetière coffee with a slice of scrumptious cake for only £1.50, in friendly, relaxed surroundings. Meet up with your friends or neighbours and see if there's something different that takes your fancy.

Roseland and Fal Farmer Group Free Event: Colour in the Margins: Managing for Arable Plants on Your Farm, N/A 23:59

18/06/2019

Join us at Martin and Clare Tupper’s farm, where Hannah Gibbons, Colour in the Margins Project Officer, will lead discussions on the importance of arable plants in Cornwall and their requirements.

- Why are arable plants threatened?
- Environmental benefits of ‘weedy’ cultivated margins and corners
- Countryside Stewardship options that benefit arable plants
- We will also touch upon the topics of
- natural predators
- arable weed burden management
- soil preservation and water quality.

It is hoped that the group will be keen to discuss the commercial effect of managing for arable plants on their holdings and what might encourage or prevent them from doing so.

We will visit the fields at Gare Farm to look at arable plants and their management

If you have land under cultivation, then you can help with arable plant conservation! This includes maize, bulb and vegetable cropping.
