King Harry Boss Returns Home

26.09.11: Tim Light, the boss of King Harry Ferry who started on a 1030 mile bike ride for charity made it to Land’s End yesterday evening along with his brother, Bill.

The two men rode from John O’Groats to Land’s End using as many ferries as possible to raise money for the Fire Brigade Benevolent Fund (Bill) and the Kamunzinda School and village clinic in Uganda (Tim), a specific part of the Pearl of Africa Foundation.

Roseland Online caught up with them as they crossed on the King Harry ferry on their way down to Land’s End. “We had some problems at the outset being hit by bad weather, so had to divert our original route plans, but once beyond that, it was just hard cycling,” Tim told us.

Bill continued, “Our new saddles held out well, but we had numerous punctures.”

The journey took them 16 days and Tim has so have so far raised £2360 for his cause, but there’s still time to add something to the coffers. He would like £3000 in total, so let’s see if Roseland Online readers can help him achieve it. To give something, just click here:http://www.justgiving.com/Tim-Light.

In the mean time, I’m sure you’ll all join me in wishing the boys many congratulations on their sterling effort and if you want to read about the whole saga, you can visit Tim and Bill’s blog by clicking here.
