Now in Tongue (right in the north)….and their far better halves have arrived to see them to the finish on Sunday!
From Dingwall to the Crask Inn. From a mixed day of long gradual climbs and long flat runs. Able to eat the miles up. Couple of times during tour been swooped by birds of prey, must be our grey helmets (no sniggering at the back) which may look like very slow flying pigeons! Through Lairg then 12 mile ascent to the Crask Inn, most remote pub in Britain. Thought I might have to dig my own latrine, but no, very quaint with even a rocking chair in the bedroom. One of those places where the night sky is literally pitch black.

From Crask to Tongue. Very short hop with howling gale up our chuff the whole way. Here by lunch time, and thought we might go for a bike ride in afternoon! But surprise, Rita and Catherine arrived which was wonderful (Ed and it is Andy & Rita’s wedding anniversary today!). I feel my use as a carer has somewhat diminished. More tomorrow, the penultimate day. Stay tuned.
