I am sitting here writing this article at the end of a mini-heatwave at the start of July. Although it doesn’t get as hot in Cornwall as it does in London, heat is still a tough issue for young children, the elderly and those of us with chronic health conditions. For the sake of the many tourist and land-based businesses on the Roseland, we hope for a nice warm and sunny August: and for the sake of the tourists and locals alike, we remind you all to take care in the sun! Why spoil a lovely holiday with a sore, lobster red sunburn and add to the risk of developing skin cancer? For more information on staying safe in the sun, visit http://www.sun-safe.org/
Most of the activities we organise are taking a break over August but they will be back in September. We remind you all that these activities are usually offered free of charge: there is a small fee for materials in the “Painting for Fun” group. Due to popular demand, we will be offering a Photography Taster Course on 30th September from 7pm to 9pm at Portscatho Memorial Hall. More details will be in the September magazine, but please pencil this date in your diary if you are interested! We are making this an evening meeting due to feedback from the Patient Survey, which told us that some working people wished to take advantage of our activities.
Finally, we are now on Facebook. Why not like us to keep in touch with what is going on or message us if you have feedback or questions about what we do? Our Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/RoselandSurgeriesPatientGroup and our email address is roselandpatientgroup@gmail.com For those of you who do not have access to the internet, don’t worry – we will still be putting out posters and more traditional forms of communication!
