Fresh from their victory at the South West series, the Roseland Wave Riders T15 are heading for the National championships at Pitsford reservoir near Northampton this weekend.
Organiser, Bob Warren told Roseland Online, “Our successful team is taking nine competitors to the event this weekend with high hopes in several different classes. The 6.8m class is particularly strong where all three competitors, Josh Croft, Lucy Grayston and Ross Warren, are already in the S squad and are hoping to qualify for the National squad this year.”
Scarlett Croft and Lowenna Penny have also worked hard this year and are hoping to be selected for the SW squad. The other team members travelling to the National Championships are Taylor and Olly Jones, Paul Carbis and Olly Croft.
Bob added, “We wish them all lots of luck and hope for some good winds this weekend and word on the water is that coach, Tom Eskdale, is quietly confident.”
The team sail year round and are always looking for new members. If you would like to know more or get involved, you can find out more about it by calling Bob at Roseland Paddle and sail on 01872 580964 and to find out more about youth windsurfing – an RYA initiative, just click here.
