Introduction to Lindsay Brooke

Roseland Online is thrilled to be welcoming Lindsay Brooke who will be supporting us with news and stories from around the Peninsula, and using her extensive experience as a reporter to help us improve the site and emails to make them more relevant and important to you.

Lindsay spent most of her career working as a reporter in regional television for ITV and the BBC. Having earned a living getting people to tell her their stories here’s a little summary of hers.

Lindsay was brought up in Nottinghamshire, going to school and college in Nottingham. She joined Channel Television, ITV’s smallest TV station, as a trainee journalist working in both Guernsey and Jersey. The offer of a job at Anglia TV tempted her away from the Channel Islands to East Anglia where she worked as a reporter and presenter. A move from ITV to the BBC took her back to Nottingham and a three-year stint at BBC East Midlands Today.

Before retiring to Cornwall she spent 12 years at the University of Nottingham working in their press office. Writing research stories for some of the world’s leading scientists meant every day was definitely a school day.

Lindsay moved to Cornwall at the end of August leaving the East Midlands to be closer to family on the Roseland. She now lives in Veryan with her dog Mabel – who loves the beach and the treats she gets at the village shop!

“As one of the Roseland’s newest residents I want to learn as much as I can about my new home and the people who help make it tick. If you have a story to tell I would be more than happy to come and talk to you about it and give you a mention in Roseland Online.  Email me at lindsay@roselandonline.co.uk.”
