25.04.11: Once again, the annual Treloan Farm charity Fete and evening meal was a huge success, making nearly £1800 for charity. The sale of teas and coffees during the day alongside the stalls, tombola and face painting, etc, bought the families out in their droves. Much fun was had by all in the wonderful weather and a big thank you from hosts, Debbie and Pete Walker, to all who took part.
The evening charity meal, cooked by one of the Roseland’s favourite chefs, Simon Stallard, was another great event. Well over 300 raffle tickets we sold during the complimentary drinks reception and, after Mac Dunlop’s opening poetry and Simon’s wonderful stir fry, the draw took place followed by the annual charity auction, hosted by Martin Edwards.
Young German visitor, Leno, was a surprise hit as he delighted the guests by showing off the items to be auctioned. It wasn’t long before he became responsible for the hammer, too, as the items – generously donated by local artists and businesses – sold like hot cakes.
All in all, another successful evening hosted by Treloan’s owners, Debbie and Pete Walker and everyone is already looking forward to next year’s event.
