31.05.11: The St. Mawes Players are in search of a new pianist. The St. Mawes Players’ Pantomime has been an integral part of the St. Mawes calendar for over 20 years and, due to their current player retiring, they are in need of a replacement to join their other musicians for the forthcoming productions.
Chair Margaret Cortis told Roseland Online, “Sadly, this year, our faithful accompanist, who has endeavoured to knock us into shape musically for many years, has decided to hang up her baton and we are now in desperate need of a new musical director/pianist. If there is anyone who would like to take us on, we normally play in the half-term week of February.”
The initial commitment would be a couple of evening’s rehearsal and nearer the time, perhaps one or two Sunday afternoon rehearsals. The pianist would then liaise with their drummer and guitarist to create the music.
“We are quite a jolly crowd,” Margaret added, “and there is a lot of fun to be has as we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We do pay for their services and would welcome any newcomer with open arms.”
If you are interested, Margaret’s contact number is 01872 501256. She looks forward to your call.
