03.11.11: On Saturday 19th of November Gorran Haven Memorial Hall will hold a relaxing day of warm woolly winter felt-making fun. Textile artist, Lou Tonkin, (www.loutonkin.wordpress.com) will be helping locals understand the techniques she uses in her own work.
Lou told Roseland Online, “In the class we are going to learn the basic techniques of felt-making, look at the different wools enabling everyone to get a feel for the material and how it works. By the end of the day everyone who takes part will be able to create their very own felted stocking ready for Christmas or some felted slippers to keep your toes warm in lovely Merino or British wools.”
This fun craft making day starts at 10.30am and will go on till 3pm, so you’ll need to take a packed lunch. The cost of the day is just £25 per person which includes all materials. Booking is essential and you can contact Lou on 01726 842851 to book your place.
