Charity Lunch for GNHCT a Success

02.07.12:Ladies Who Lunch, an event to raise money for the Global Natural Healthcare Trust (Charity no. 1107629) which was held on 22nd June at Trelissick Farm, near Tregony, was a resounding success. Over fifty ladies enjoyed a delicious lunch and a glass of wine at the lovely Roseland location.

Organiser, Susan Donnovan, told Roseland Online, “The organisers would like to say a heartfelt thank you to the ladies who gave so generously. We raised over £1,000. The will go towards equipping the medical unit for babies and toddlers known as The Kernow Centre at the Charity’s clinic in South Africa. Specifically it will enable the purchase of a specialised cot which cost £600 each.”

The Charity’s founder, Truro based Annette Montague-Thomas, spoke at the event and told diners that because of the problems arising from the ravages of the AIDS pandemic in South Africa, the charity has increasingly become involved with the rescue, care and fostering of orphans and has become a reception facility for orphans in that part of the country, which is the size of Cornwall. This is in addition to the work she does on nutrition and herbal remedies to help boost the well-being and immune systems of over 13,000 patients in her care.

The £1,000 has been added to Roseland Online’s Charity Page total – a total of all money raised in South Central Cornwall this year – bringing it to a massive £13,358.41, so well done everyone!
