A lunch in support of the Cornish charity GNHCT (Global Natural Healthcare Trust) will be held at Veryan Parish Hall on Thursday 11th April. The GNHCT was founded in the year 2000 by Annette Montague-Thomas to help alleviate the plight of abandoned children from one of the poorest areas of the world, in Southern Africa.
Since Annette established her clinic in Africa she has cared for, fed and treated hundreds of children, transforming their lives and bringing hope for a better future and the money raised from the Veryan event will be used to equip a specialised medical unit for the treatment of sick babies and toddlers which is called the “Kernow Cuddle Centre” in recognition of the generous support given by the people of Cornwall.
Organiser, Susan O’Donovan told Roseland Online, “All money raised goes directly to the Charity; there are no middlemen or other agencies involved and no paid fund-raisers. [This picture] is of a child too weak to stand when she was brought to Annette’s clinic. Within a month after treatment she walked back in.”
Annette will attend the event to give a vivid, illustrated talk about her work and to answer questions. The cost of the lunch is £12.50 to include a buffet with a choice of hot and cold dishes, desserts and a glass of wine.
