Defibrillators on the Roseland – Fresh Appeal
You may be aware that the Roseland Surgeries Patient Group fundraised to provide a large number of defibrillators across the Roseland many years ago and these are regularly maintained by ‘guardians’, batteries and pads replaced etc as needed. We know that use of these defibrillators has saved lives over the years. We know that access to emergency services can be tricky at times as the Roseland is quite a drive from Treliske Hospital (even when the roads are quiet!)
The defibrillator programme was started over 10 years ago and consequently, the machines themselves are starting to fail. To that end, the RSPG is thinking about a replacement programme to ensure that the Roseland remains stocked with these vital pieces of equipment. However, they’re not cheap – but we absolutely can’t put a price on a life saved and so we are very keen to kick-start our fundraising efforts. We know that everyone is tight for cash, and there are always requests for help from charities, but we hope that a concerted fundraising effort will reap benefits specifically for our community.
We appeal to you to make a donation in parallel with the many Roseland residents who have already contributed to this life-saving cause. It could be your life or that of a loved-one. Please either send money directly to the RSPG via their bank account: Name : Roseland Surgeries Patients Group Sort code: 20-87-94 Number: 63179419
OR, hand in a cheque or cash to Nicola, Practice Manager at Portscatho Surgery.
We are incredibly grateful to you for your help and support.
