Do you have a business with a loyalty scheme? If so, let us know!
In July, Humfrey’s, the well-known Farm Shop near Tregony, closed it doors for the last time. Many say it was the arrival of Waitrose in Truro late last year that was the final nail in the coffin – Humfrey’s simply could not compete against the favourite supermarket of many of our visitors who were excited that they could now get their deliveries on the Roseland.
A.R. Day, the popular butcher in Portscatho, is the latest trader on the Roseland to face up to the big Supermarkets by introducing a loyalty scheme.
Speaking to Roseland Online, Andy Day said, “You can see vans from the supermarkets every day of the week, not just in the summer when there is a steady stream of vans delivering to holiday homes and campsites.
“Many locals never use their local shops, I hope that a loyalty scheme will help introduce them to the wonderful Cornish produce that we have to offer.”
Many other stores on the Roseland offer points or loyalty schemes. Why not help others by commenting below with establishments that operate such schemes? Or, better still, if you’re a business that offers loyalty schemes or discounts, let us know and we’ll help get the word out! Roseland Online wants to do all it can to help support local business before others go the way of Humfrey’s.
I wish we had a butchers like Andy Day’s here in Penryn.
