24.05.11:The Beach Hut on Porthcurnick beach has two new proprietors. Jemma Glass and ex Rosevine Chef, Simon Stallard, took over the running of the ‘Hidden Hut’ just this month and have great plans for its future.
“We are having a seafood BBQ this Sunday (29th),” Jemma told Roseland Online. “It starts at 1pm and will run all afternoon (or until we sell out of food), and this will be the first event of many over the summer. We’ve got juicy scallops, local mackerel, slow-cooked sticky ribs, chargrilled veg, new season potatoes, salads and more! For dessert there’ll be chocolate brownie, strawberry & almond bake, treacle tart and ice creams.”
The barbeque will costs £10 a head (£5 kid’s portions) and includes both main and dessert. Bring-your-own beers and wine will have free corkage and there’ll be tea, coffees, etc. available.
The couple have already put lots of new seating there and given the hut a much needed facelift – and with Simon’s cooking skills and his day-job for Wing fishmongers, it should be a summer of fun down at Portcurnick!
