Roseland Community College has pulled out all the stops to raise a whopping £501.17 for local charity Marie Curie Roseland Fundraising Group.
Secretary for the Roseland Fundraising Group for Marie Curie, Jackie Shell, told Roseland Online “The money is raised by holding a non uniform day and the students each donate a minimum of £1 to the cause.
Also for the past few years, the college has also taken part in the Marie Curie Field of Dreams. To help with this very worthy fund raising event and to highlight the work they do, the Year 10 and 11 students on the Land Based course spend some of their time in October and November planting hundreds of bulbs around the site.
“In the spring they look forward to seeing the results of their labour as the spaces around college will be covered with yellow daffodil flowers. With the warm weather and sunshine this autumn the daffodils should give them a fantastic show in the spring.”
