Do you have some time to spare and want to get involved with a local and rewarding event? Then being part of the Mevagissey Feast Week team may well be for you.
Mevagissey Feast Week is run entirely by volunteers and they need a lot of volunteers to keep the festival going. It is fun and rewarding and they’re planning an exciting week of events for 2013, enough for anyone to try new things, meet new people, have fun, and make a real contribution to a lovely community event.
Your commitment doesn’t need to be intensive; you can do as much as you want from just a couple of hours a week if you like, but every little helps!
Volunteers are mainly involved during the actual Feast week (this year’s dates are 23rd to the 29th June 2013). But the team also need help in setting up the festival in advance.
The team are having a volunteer introduction session at 7pm on Tuesday 23rd April at the Jubilee Hall in Mevagissey. This session will also include sewing workshops for those who have kindly volunteered to help sew all our new festival flags this year like (from left in pic) Kirsty, Didge, Kath & Vicki who are in charge of making the new Feast Week flags.
The volunteer sessions cover health and safety and security as well as specific information you will need for stewarding, radio procedure and collecting. The Feast Week team will be on hand to provide more information about the various activities where we will need your help.
If you think you would like to help out this year, they’d welcome your contact! Either go along to the meeting above or, if you can’t make but would still like to volunteer, you can e-mail the team on: secretary@mevagisseyfeastweek.org.uk
