The Hidden Hut on Porthcurnick beach near Portscatho added another notch to their belt last night (after only last week being named UK’s best seaside restaurant by The Times) when they became the venue for one of Nokia’s Pop-up Lumia concerts with the up-coming pop act, the Staves.

The three girl acoustic harmony group featuring Emily, Jessica, and Camilla Staveley had heard of the Hidden Hut from friends and were keen to use the venue for one of their concerts.

Hidden hut owners, Simon Stallard and Jemma Glass, told Roseland Online, “We had a call out of the blue from Nokia asking if they could use the venue for one of their now legendary Lumia concerts as the Staves had requested it. It was a huge surprise but a chance we were more than happy to accommodate.”

The girls played some songs around the campfire for a while before the rain became too intense. They then continued the concert inside the Hidden Hut itself.

Nokia have sponsored this series of concerts around the UK to promote their Lumia range of phones and the Staves are doing a series of concerts in Cornwall to promote their Dead & Born & Grown, album which was released in November 2012..

The girls have been making music together since they were children. Having come a long way from their formative years, gigging in local pubs and cafes, and their intertwining voices are now captivating audiences on much bigger stages, supporting the likes of Bon Iver and The Civil Wars.
